Indian street food and cocktails at Tammela stadium

The food comes off the streets of Delhi. Street food, curries and dishes from the tandoor, with vegetarian and vegan options beside them. In the evening the cocktails carry the same spices as the sauces. The head chef puts the tasting menu together himself.

About Us

Delhi House Tampere: the head chef’s road from Delhi to Tammela

Randhir Tiwari grew up in Delhi. There the food is cooked at the roadside and eaten standing up: Aloo Tikki Chaat, Chicken Tikka out of the tandoor, Onion Bhajia lifted from hot oil. Those same dishes are on the list in Tammela now.

Delhi House is in the Tammela stadium building. At lunchtime the tables fill with people from the offices nearby, in the evening guests stay longer, and on match days they walk from here straight to the stand. One kitchen does all three.

In the evening the bar joins in. The cocktails carry the same spices as the sauces, and we set the heat of your dish anywhere on a scale of 1 to 10. Book ahead for Friday and Saturday evenings.

This is how you eat at Delhi House

One kitchen makes the lunch, the evening à la carte and the menu for a party. Below is what comes to the table, and the room you eat it in. A longer piece explains what authentic Indian street food in Tampere actually is and where the Delhi House dishes come from.

The chef

Randhir Tiwari

Randhir Tiwari has been cooking for 27 years. The road ran from Delhi to Finland, first to Pietarsaari in 2019 and, since the summer of 2025, to Tampere, in the Tammela stadium building.

He also wrote a book about the journey. The same idea runs through the menu: the dishes come from the streets of Delhi, not from a European idea of Indian food. We set the heat of your dish on a scale of 1 to 10, and at lunch the main course is cooked to order rather than left under a heat lamp.

ABOUT OUR CHEF

Meet Chef Randhir Tiwari: Your Culinary Maestro

  • The chef’s rule: Too much heat must not cover the original flavor of a dish. Spices are there to bring flavor, not to burn.
  • Head chef and owner: Randhir Tiwari grew up in Delhi and now runs the Delhi House kitchen. He often comes out to the tables to ask how the food is.

Before a match at Tammela stadium

Delhi House is in the stadium building, so you walk straight from the table to the match. On match days a Match-Day Beer costs €5.50.

Every dish is cooked to order, so tell your server if you are short on time before kick-off. The street food dishes are quick.

Book a table in advance, because the room fills up before kick-off. If the whole group is heading to the stand, Delhi House also takes group bookings for match days. Parking nearby runs out fast on match days, so allow extra time or come by tram.

Indian cocktails in Tammela

Delhi House has its own bar, and the cocktails use the same spices as the kitchen. In the evening the drink is built to go with the dish.
